MRI: (magnetic resonance imaging)

Using a wide selection of MR technology, the team at Advanced Medical Imaging captures powerful images  giving the physician additional information needed to determine how to best  treat a patient.   Our equipment offers a wide variety of choices from high-field, high resolution scanners to open MR scanners, all from the most respected manufacturers.

MRI is the preferred  exam for brain tumors,  strokes and  other disorders of the neurovascular system.   MR Angiography provides detailed images of the vascular system in the brain without contrast material. This method can detect aneurysms, obstructions and  similar abnormalities.

MRI takes images of  soft tissues that cannot be accurately evaluated on plain X-ray or other X-ray based imaging modalities. MRI can  detect bone trauma or other intrinsic bone pathology with few exceptions with greater sensitivity than X-ray techniques.  MRI is the most sensitive noninvasive imaging method for diagnosing many conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system.

MRI uses radiofrequency waves to create  images. The waves go into the body and send a signal back. The specialty coils work like antennae’s to receive  the signal. The quality of the coil directly impacts the quality of the MRI image.

Advanced Medical Imaging Centers feature specialized coils dedicated to specific body areas.
