ULTRASOUND (SONOGRAM) PROCEDURES THAT REQUIRE A DIETARY PREPARATION ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Liver/Spleen Doppler

Renal Arterial Doppler

Dietary instruction:

Adults- please remain NPO (Nothing to eat or drink) preferably after midnight the day before your exam. Or, if that is not possible, please do not eat or drink six (6-8) to eight hours prior to your exam.  

Infants – Please do not eat or drink 2 hours prior to the appointment time (hold one feeding).
